Overview

Bondry Consulting advised the Indiana Finance Authority on financing a $27.8 million project to create a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient charter high school for Matchbook Learning Schools of Indiana in Indianapolis. The project repurposes two warehouses into a high school and vocational center, serving 280 students. 

Bondry’s Role

Bondry structured $20.5 million in bonds to meet the project’s financial needs, aligning them with $5.3 million in DOE grants and $2.13 million in ESSER funds. Bondry also coordinated stakeholders and ensured compliance with financial and sustainability goals.

Project Highlights

  • Energy-Efficient Upgrades: The project includes solar panels, energy storage, LED lighting, and advanced HVAC systems, enhancing both energy efficiency and student learning.

  • ESSER Funds: $2.13 million was allocated to infrastructure improvements, providing long-term value and avoiding future operational strain.

  • DOE Grant: Matchbook secured a competitive $5.3 million DOE grant, funding energy upgrades and sustainability features.

  • Community Support: A $500,000 grant from The Mind Trust supported the project’s funding, promoting innovative education in Indianapolis.
